Hello! Today we are just coming back from our big trip at Voyageurs National Park! First Dad tried to back the RV all the way down a road to get to our campsite but that didn’t work so we decided to find another one. A nice lady and her two friends had an RV park for like 3 RV’s to fit in so we took a space there. She gave us some peanuts to feed a chipmunk, we got to pet it too! It was soooo soft!! That night we watched a National Park movie while listening to the rain!
The next day it was time to canoe to our tent site!! We got out all our stuff for camping like the tent, food, sleeping bags, etc. It took us a while to get the canoes ready. We put all our things in the canoe with tarps right over them to keep dry. I went with Dad and Ava went with Mom. We started canoeing on calm water then we started to get in the crazier water. I had brought my fishing pole so I could fish in the canoe and we remembered putting it in the canoe but we couldn’t find it. Later on we finally found it! But I didn’t catch anything. We got to a dock to take a quick hike at beaver lake. On the way we saw so many mushrooms and when we got to the lake there were a lot of beaver huts but no beavers.

We got back in the canoes and left the dock. We finally arrived at our tent site, it was so pretty because it was overlooking the huge lake. I tried fishing again but didn’t catch anything. Dad started a fire and we ate our dinner which wasn’t very good but later we got s’mores. We went in the tent, got in our sleeping bags and started to read. Then we went to bed and we were all warm and perfect. But then in the middle of the night Ava and I were freezing. I was freezing because my zipper on the side was broken! So the sleeping bag was practically open! Mom helped me fix the zipper so I was a bit warmer – but still freezing. In the morning mom and dad let us sleep in their sleeping bags. They were so warm!!! We ate breakfast got in our canoes and headed off!! The water was CRAZY on the way back! We got to the dock put the canoes back and got in the RV. Our camping trip was great and although it was cold it was AWESOME!!!

Hazel, love your post. It made me miss you all so much more.
Wonderful pictures. Especially liked the one of you fishing.

Thanks! I miss you and Maga so much! -Hazel
Dear Hazel,
I loved the part about petting the chipmunk, something I would love to do. But the cold camping night, ugh. What wonderful things you are seeing, I am envious. Continue to enjoy and marvel. Love, Beverly
Petting chipmunks are so fun🐿! -Hazel
Hazel…such a descriptive post! By the way, any meal topped off with s’mores turns out ok. 🙂
Thanks! S’mores are always the best!😛-Hazel
Hi Hazel,
I loved reading your post. I’ve never been much of a camper, but I enjoy reading about other people doing it. The one time we camped for several nights in Northern Minnesota I loved the days but found the nights problematic — too many mosquitos and too cold. I also was afraid a bear might come — which never happened!
I’m impressed with your commitment to fishing as well as to Spanish. Yay for you!

Thanks! I agree about the cold and mosquitoes. Luckily there was not to many mosquitoes and we eventually slept through the cold😀! -Hazel
