Hola otra vez!

English Version:
Hello again! I am recovering well and enjoying the beautiful weather over here in California. Good riddance cold! Our voyage from Big Sky Montana was generally uneventful, though a little uncomfortable with the leg. But boy, was I glad to be moving! Montana is beautiful, but I was so over it. When we landed after our second flight we greeted Dad and Hazel and set off in San Francisco! We settled into our hotel after a stop at some food trucks for lunch and rested while Dad and Mom went and bought me a wheelchair. Then we drove up to Muir Woods (unfortunately not named after us) and they wheeled me around the beautiful Redwoods. It was like a jungle, there was so much underbrush and thick foliage, and even a stream through it all. It was quite a bit cooler down there too. After that we went to a beautiful restaurant where we sat on a heated patio right next to Sausalito Bay and had a delicious meal. To top it all off we went to the Ghirardelli chocolate factory and had some ice cream! It was great.

The next day we walked around San Fran a bit more and saw Sea Lions fighting, which was really cool. After that we began the drive to Carmel by the Sea, but not without stopping at an amazing bakery recommendation, Tartine. Then we were off, eating delicious pastries while Hazel and I listened to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on audiobook. Once we arrived in Carmel we dropped off everything at a lovely house some friends of my grandparents lent us (pictures of their home below, amazing place to recuperate!). Then we grabbed lunch and walked/wheeled around downtown. We did a lot of that in Carmel by the Sea. The rest of the day we mostly just chilaxed, and same with the next day. Again, we did lots of exploring the small town and gazing out at the beautiful coastline. On Friday however, we did something cool. Plus it was just a cool day in general. It was Valentines Day, but really, does that matter? No. It was my Birthday!!! We walked around in the beautiful weather and then in the afternoon we went to the Monterey Aquarium! It was so cool! I got wheeled around and we hit every single tank and saw all the cool creatures and left at 5:01, officially overstaying our welcome, seeing as they closed at 5:00. Then we drove to Papa Johns, which was my only real birthday request. I was so excited until we realized exactly where the Papa Johns was. It was on a government base. Deciding we best not break into the government base (I was seriously considering it), we drove to another pizza place, which had an hour wait, and eventually settled with frozen pizza. I did get good ice cream though! And we watched Thor: Ragnarok as I opened my presents (a bag of Ghirardelli chocolate squares and a box of Fruit by the Foot, per my request). All in all, a pretty great birthday.

On our last day at Carmel by the Sea we went to check on Mobi, and then chilaxed the rest of the day. On Sunday we drove to an RV park south of Big Sur, on the way stopping at Elephant Seal beach, which, true to its name, was covered with them. Now it’s Monday, and we are preparing to drive to Malibu. It’s good to be back in Mobi, and back on the road!

Happy Belated Birthday, Ava! Great to see you mending and enjoying the ride!
Great post Ava.
Love your happy spirit.
