Hola!

Santa Fe!

Hello! We have just come from Hot Springs Arkansas, where you can get a 105 degree bath! No seriously, you should try it. Anyways, I’ll get to that later. We’ll start off at the beautiful campsite we found! Site 23, in the Gulpha Gorge campground was awesome. It was almost dead level (this is extremely important) and had an awesome creek in the back. Plus, it was full hook ups! After we got settled in we took about a three mile hike (due to taking the wrong trail and backtracking) that led to Goat Rock. It was a really great trail, although unfortunately there were no goats to be seen. After that we chilaxed in the RV and ate stir fry. Then we watched the 6th Harry Potter. We are binge-watching them, starting with the middle of the series. So now we’re binge-watching them Star Wars style which has been really fun. I love these movies. No spoilers if you haven’t seen it, I promise.
The next day we woke up, did some more chilaxing, and then headed out. Remember when I started the blog post with a reference to a 105 degree bath? Well, that’s what we were going to do. Hot Springs is famous for them so we figured we should give it a go. We went to the National Park visitor center first to check it out, and discovered that the building was really an old bath house. Because it was traditionally a place where Americans went to enjoy the healing benefits of the water in the late 1800s, the National Park system has been preserving them. Everything was really cool and we explored upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs we found a really interesting old gymnasium, which is the front picture. It was awesome.
After the visitors center, we checked in to the real bath house. They use the authentic hot springs for the bath, although they bring it down 40 degrees, and then they add some extra things, like hot pads, sitz tubs, needle showers and vapor cabinets. The last two were shut down however, due to a suspected case of legionnaires disease. I’m pretty sure they didn’t find anything, but rather safe than sorry. We went up a cool elevator and then began the bath. The bath was awesome for like 10 minutes, and then I was burning up. My temperature gage also said 107, so that might have had something to do with it… or a lot. Finally our attendant released my sister and me and took me to the sitz tub and her to the hot pads. We were making silly faces the entire time. The sitz tub was kinda boring, except for feeling all professional reading the oldest wrinkliest Southern Living magazine in history. The hot pads however were much better. We even got a cold one on our face!! Ahh, the relief. After that we were done! All in all, a solid 5.5 out of 10. We checked out some hot springs and then headed home to the Mobs, to a veggie dinner and to the 7th Harry Potter.
Today we woke, hiked the Goat trail again (this time without going on the wrong one) and then set off! Next major stop… Santa Fe!

Nice creative picture taking.
Great to see the Muir family in Charlotte. It was my Christmas!
